Nokia Handwriting Calculator

by Sunny on June 11, 2010

Nokia has released a new kind of app, called the Nokia Handwriting calculator. This is pretty much the same app as the other calculator apps, but the difference is that, here, you don’t type in the numbers, but you write them in your own handwriting on the phone’s display. Its then decodes your writing and finds out what you have written and does the calculation.

In the empty area of the app, you write the calculation part, with the operators like +, -, etc. and then tap on the = button on the rite side.

When you tap the = button, you get the output or result of your calculation. There is provision to make complex calculations as well such as sin, cos, tan, etc. You get all these options in the top portion of the screen. You can just tap on the function you want and it is automatically put on the screen for your convenience. You can add other operators to these functions to get the result of a complex computation.

You even get options to use inverse trigonometric functions like cot, cosine, etc. To use these options, you need to tap on the Inv button. And also, you can change the units from degrees to radians and vice versa.

A unique feature in this app is that it maintains a history of your calculations in that particular session. You can go to the history menu and see the list of all the calculations.

You can download it from the Ovi Store.
