Nokia Here and Now is another app or service, you can say, that lets you know what are the places around you where you can have food, or what are the happening around you which you can go to, and the route to these places or events. This basically calculates your location using the built-in GPS or from internet on your phone and gives you the list.
If you want to search another place, you can just type in the name of the place in the search field and you can get the happenings around that place. When you click on the name of a restaurant that is listed, it takes you to that details of that restaurant, which gives you the address, phone no, email address, website and the route map to that restaurant from your current location. It also gives you customer reviews about the place and some of the snaps of the place. Interesting, isn’t it?
I used this app in Bangalore a couple of times and it worked just fine. It gave all proper information about the restaurant and when I chose to see the route map, it opened up the Ovi Map on my phone and gave me directions to the place from my current location. It was precise.
Similarly, it gives you details of different events going on or about to go on around your current location. Selecting one event, gives you details of the same.
